Polish composer Michał Jacaszek joins ambient electronics, acoustic instrumentation, and musique concrète.
Collects music connected to films including Rainer Sarnet's November and the documentary He Dreams of Giants.
Piano, strings, distant voices, and textured percussion shape highlights such as "The Zone" and "Dance."
For fans of: Tim Hecker, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and William Basinski.
Music for Film gathers Jacaszek's soundtrack work into a cohesive listening experience. Small piano figures and worn acoustic textures open onto shadowy spaces, with strings and voices appearing through the electronic haze. The music carries the emotional weight of a dark fairytale while leaving room for the listener's own images.
These pieces reach across different projects and years, yet the careful sequencing makes them feel like parts of one slow-moving landscape. "Liina" and "November Late" bring a particularly haunting vocal presence to a record built around restraint, atmosphere, and finely observed detail.
